Review: Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo Cream/Gel shadow in Tenacious Teal

Shabby covering means it's truly loved!
So, I like colour. My blog name is rather self explanatory about that. And I dream of brands like SugarPill and Inglot and Aromaleigh and BFTE. AAAAAAND I CAN'T HAVE THEM. *angry shaking fist at the sky* So when these 24 Hour Color Tattoos by Maybelline cream shadows were launched on the Blogosphere I was ecstatic. Still angry since they weren't here in Pakistan but I hoped. So after ages of drooling and wishing (and crying, TENACIOUS TEAL AND FIERCE AND TANGY SO SESKY.) they finally came here and I finally got it. My sister bought it actually. This is what it DIDN'T look like since it was all new and shiny back then ^_^"

Er...it was new about seven months ago >w>
I squealed. I cherished it and stroked it prettily and obsessively and when I swatched it..love. Pure and utter love. All of the raves and all of the thumbs up, they were right. This baby is all you could ever want in a cream eye shadow. Now sit back and read the bulletproof beauty that is the Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo cream shadow in Tenacious Teal. Because I have NO cons about it. None. NADA~!

Tenacious Teal is rather spot on. Not too green and definitely more aqua based. It's such a brilliant blue with the slightest shimmer and this BE-E-EAUTI-FUL sheen that you can't believe. Its definitely waterproof, smudge-proof, bloodproof, any kind of proof you wanna try it in? Go ahead. Once it is set it doesn't budge. Trust me, I tried. HARD. Tattoo claim? One hundred percent correct. It doesn't crease on me AT ALL. Not sure about the twenty four hour claim but I rocked this on Eid and after a hot seven hours with a hundred relatives my eye makeup still looked freshly applied! And everyone asked who did my makeup and what I used and all that jazz. I was ecstatic and I was in love. My eyes looked poppin'!

Swatches L-R: Thick angel brushed (1 swipe), built on swatch (2 swipes), thin liner brush,  blended

They do take a bit of care to work with it but bright colours always do, even the biggest noobtard can work these to the max. It's bright. It's bold. It's runway poptastic. On par with the MAC paint pots and one third the price of it, Maybelline got us a brilliant gem in these and they multi task wonderfully as eye liner and primer too. Doesn't smudge over the day and wonderful for when you want a mix of colours for the neutral loving. You can sheer them out, use them as primer to intensify your makeup (colour co ordinate please!), line your eyes, wear alone for a quickie, they'd probably even feed your cat and clean the trash but I never asked :3
A look I created long ago, you can see the shift of colours in this

I used it as a primer, liner and over all eyeshadow too here. So versatility in this one is endless
Any who, this is for EVERYONE who loves colours and bulletproof beauty. They have a set of neutrals in the colour range so for those not so keen on the colour intensity can try that. But I do advise you check out the colourful ones, that orange and purple make me drool~ They cost Rs. 745 last time I checked and are available at Imtiaz Super Store, Naheed Super Market, Dolmen mall Tariq, Hyper Star and all major departmental stores in Karachi, Al Fatah in Lahore, Centaurus mall in Islamabad (I am not sure on the places outside of Karachi though, you can try the Maybelline New York Pakistan page if you want to confirm for those areas ^_^) Thank you for reading~

Review: Maybelline Diamond Glow/Hyper Diamonds Quad Shadows

Maybelline Diamond Glow Quad; (from left to right):  Ocean Blue, Wine Pink, Autumn Spirit,  Fresh Green

My first review, still can't believe I'm doing this. SUPER EXCITED. But what I have here are the Maybelline Diamond Glow By Eye Studio Quad Shadows (Hyper Diamonds in the US) and for a good part of my teenage hood AND my sister's adulthood these were our go to shadows. We got each quad from Robinson Store in Bangkok, Thailand. Here are the swatches:

Ocean Blue

First up is the shade selection Ocean Blue.

Wine Pink

This one is Wine Pink (Check out that liner shade! It has this amazing pink/maroon/purple duo chrome flash in real life.)

Fresh Green

Fresh Green but it really doesn't strike me as 'fresh', more sage. It's quite springy on the eyes though.

Autumn Spirit

Autumn spirit. Really this isn't much of a pigmented bunch but the second shade is just GORGEOUS.

Back of case. See the eye chart? Useful!

We are major makeup geeks now so we do find a fault or two in these but honestly? For the price they couldn't be beat. These are rather good, with a shimmer liner shade that's pretty in the finish and pigmented crease, definer and highlighter shades and a few so-so ones. However none are too bad and none can't be fixed without a primer or even wet. I did do a look using them with a damp brush and they came out beautiful, a particular one in the brown shades was like a pop of a shell-really REALLY amazing on the eyes as a colour wash. A metallic smooth rose beige. Kinda like Urban Decay...Sin? Virgin? I forgot but without the glitters and more opaque and it's metallic. It IS in the Naked palette that one shade. Eheheh...^_^" Also beautiful as a highlighter on the cheeks!

Not frosty at ALL! As a shadow it can be a pink nude sparkling wash or a sort of Benefit Highbeam like highlighter on the face.

These have a frosted (in some cases) highlighter, a pastel definer, a vibrant crease and a blackened liner in the same colour scheme. I don't know why but I really like that the blackened shades are what they are, such a unique take on liner shades

They have a smooth, buttery texture, silky smooth, Too SMOOTH. The are powdery, have fall out but it's not much. Really fairly pigmented (The pink is vibrant.) but the liner shades in the three beside Autumn spirit stained my hand. Which was odd but nothing troublesome, I really don't care much about cleaning it up with soap and water. The highlighters (the first shades) are a bit powdery and most of the shades have heavy sparkles. No mattes here people, this is DEFINITE SHIMMER. Or satin. But no mattes. They come with a sponge applicator which do the job nicely. A bit of fall out. Some shades when blended too much disappear.

Look I created, not visible much I KNOW ARGH IPAD CAMERAS.

But like I said, this is budget queen goodness. You have a young girl who loves colours and playing up the eyes? These make a beautiful combination without looking TOO overdone. A nice pop of freshness in the spring!

It was a super fast look so ^_^

Rating? I have tried better and I AM anticipating the arrival of the Urban Decay order me and my sister made so on a scale from 1 to 10 these are a definite SIX. Not AMAZING OH MAI GAWD SO PERFECT but not too shabby either, just perfect for that teenager wanting to try her hand on effortless makeup looks (There are eye charts on the back defining how to go for a look there) or the grown woman wanting a bit of colour for everyday! So ever get the chance to try them do so, this is more personal preference of choice here on the finish.
